Step 1: Call. Use this call-in tool or contact the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask your representative and two senators to pass a clean budget with no poison pills. When the staffer answers the phone, say, “Hello, my name is NAME from CITY/TOWN, and I’m a constituent. I’m calling today to request that you not include any poison pill riders in this year’s spending bills. Please pass a clean budget.”
